At FLIR, we don't say we're #1 in EO/IR because we have more systems installed on more vehicles, helicopters, fixed wing aircraft, UAV's and ships in more countries than anyone else (we do). Or because we've delivered over 100,000 sensors (we have). It's not even because we have all the critical technologies under our roof, or a uniquely successful CDMQ approach to military and Government programs. It's because we're uniquely focused on you...our customers.

CDMQ means we spend far more than the industry average on R&D--typically 10% of our revenue or about 4X the industry norm.  Using those resources, we partner with customers to provide just what they want, and then qualify everything to MIL SPEC or beyond.  And because we're able to leverage our large production volumes, we achieve levels of commonality, cost control, reliability, and performance unheard of in our industry.

One result of CDMQ combined with customer focus is show above.  Since 1992, the Star SAFIRE class provides a continuous, unbroken technology upgrade path.  Including the Star SAFIRE HD--the world's first and only all-digital, Full HD system--all Star SAFIRE class products may be operated using the same cables and mounts, and the same aircraft installation provisions.  We are committed to this engineering discipline because it allows you to maintain your original investment in aircraft structural provisions, wiring, certification, and training.  Harder for us?  Sure.  Easier for you?  That's the whole point.
